I have had a good day with things falling into place for the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) ride this summer.  The two teens that I had hoped to enroll in this appear to be on board!  Both are graduates of the advanced mechanic training that the co-op undertook with the Lucas County CITE program last year and have worked as part-time mechanics at the shop since then.  So, our tentative list of young people participating in the ride:  two MM youth who are also doing the mountain trip this summer, 1 youth who I understand will be in MM next year but now has this opportunity this summer, and two from the Bike Co-op teenage program.  So 4 of the 5 youth have been at the co-op a little or a lot, and the other of the 5 is due to get involved soon.  

It will be great to get some real out-of-doors time in the sacred beauty and peace of the Ohio Countryside, and be riding machines that we have built ourselves and can service if we have any problems.  I also look forward to the guys repairing a few flat tires or doing other tune-up work for some of the 3000 people or so who will also be riding GOBA with us!
